Your health. Your body. Your terms.

Evidence-based health and nutrition coaching for women in midlife.

Women have learnt to keep going. Often in silence. Through perimenopause and menopause, through exhaustion, through weight gain that no longer responds, and the frustration of a body that no longer feels predictable.

The foundations of long-term health are well established. Sleep, movement, nutrition, stress management, connection. None of it is a secret. There is good evidence they meaningfully reduce the risk of the chronic diseases that affect too many women in midlife.

Most women know this and want to do something about it. But knowing what to do and doing it consistently, in the context of a full and complicated life, are two very different things. That gap is where most approaches fail.

This is the work we do together.

I am Dr Aristoula Papakostidi. Most people call me Mary. I am a doctor and health and nutrition coach. I work with women in midlife to build practical, sustainable approaches to their nutrition, movement, sleep, stress management and recovery, so they feel back in control, discover what works for them, until it becomes second nature.

Twenty years in medicine taught me that the choices people make from day to day have a greater impact on their health and wellbeing than what happens in a clinic appointment.

Who this is for

You know if it is for you.

Somewhere along the way health stopped being something you managed well and became something you manage around everything else.

The tiredness does not resolve with sleep. Perhaps some weight gain and an expanding midsection. Energy becomes unpredictable. Sleep is disrupted: difficulty falling asleep, waking at 3am, not feeling rested. Brain fog. Low mood. Anxiety that feels disproportionate. A body that feels like it is operating on different rules.

These experiences are common during perimenopause and menopause. However, if you have not already spoken to your GP, that conversation is always the right first step.

If any of this sounds familiar and you want further support, the next step is a conversation.

What changes

By the end of working together you will have a clear, sustainable approach to your health that fits your actual life. How you nourish yourself, how you move, how you manage your energy and your days. Built around who you are and how you actually live. Not a plan someone handed you and lives in a drawer.

You will understand your own patterns well enough to get back on track without starting over. Without restriction, perfection, or treating your health as one more thing competing for your attention.

And something else happens, quietly and then noticeably. The work you do on your health does not stay in the health box. You make decisions more clearly. You show up differently at work, in relationships, for yourself.

Because how you care for yourself shapes how you show up for everything else.

Why this is different

Three things that are not standard:

  1. The clinical depth. Your hormones, your medications, your life stage, and what is actually behind your symptoms, your energy, and the changes in your body. You will not need to explain yourself or justify your choices.

  2. The honesty. Coached without judgement, without oversimplification, and without being sold a fantasy about what is possible.

  3. The design. What you build will last, not because you found more discipline, but because you built it around your real life, and developed the skills to support it.

This is not a programme you follow. It is a process you own.

Meet Mary

I dedicated twenty years to medicine, including a decade as an NHS Consultant.

That experience showed me consistently how much of what determines how well people live falls outside what a clinical appointment can address. The evidence on the benefits of lifestyle modification is clear. How people eat, move, sleep, and manage stress meaningfully reduces the risk of the chronic conditions that affect too many people, and shapes how well they live for decades.

My approach draws on nutrition science, behaviour change psychology, and motivational interviewing. It is practical, evidence-based, and built around consistency rather than perfection.
